Adam Cohen served in the Israeli military for three years, and then “served as a Court Marshal for the Jerusalem District Court,” according to an online bio.
Cohen eventually moved to Canada, and in 2007 founded Perceptage International, a security consulting firm, according to his LinkedIn profile. The Perceptage website states, “From 2009 to 2016, while managing his consulting firm, Adam also served as National Director of Community Security for the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA) and Director of Community Security for Federation CJA, overseeing the safety of Jewish communities across Canada.”
The profile on the Perceptage website adds, “In 2015, Adam was honored with the ‘Man of the Year’ award by the Montreal Police Intelligence Department for his contributions to the National Lockdown Project and volunteer work with at-risk communities. His unique expertise continues to be sought globally, collaborating with law enforcement on sensitive community protection initiatives.”
In January 2025, Concordia University student newspaper The Link reported that the university had hired Cohen’s company for security during a two-week period in the Fall 2024 semester, and that the decision had been criticized by students and student groups on campus due in part to the firm’s alleged ties to the Israeli military. The Link added, “Perceptage agents have been accused of physically assaulting students while stationed at pro-Palestine demonstrations.”
The firm lists a wide-range of clients on its website, including the CBC.
