Jory Dayan is a Canadian from Toronto who attended the B’nei Akiva Yeshivat Or Chaim high school in North York, Ont. Dayan later immigrated to Israel. He attended the Yeshivat Hakotel, a Religious Zionist yeshiva, in a program that requires students to complete military service, and went on to serve in the Givati Brigade alongside another soldier included in this database, Yehuda Bessner. The brigade received international attention in 2022 after some of its soldiers were accused and later found guilty of spitting at the Armenian archbishop and other Christian pilgrims during a procession in Jerusalem.
Dayan is now completing a bachelor of engineering program at the Lev Academic Center, and works as a student administrative assistant at Azami Global, according to his LinkedIn.
Dayan’s mother, Ellen Dayan, is a retired dentist. An online bio for her states, “In 2022, she was privileged to participate in the Momentum Moms of Lone Soldiers trip, while one of her sons was in the IDF.”
