Joseph Starr is a Canadian who went to Israel and served in its military in 2012, according to an interview with one of his brothers, Michael Starr. Joseph was in the Canadian military as of February 2023, according to Michael.

Starr has two brothers that were or are in the Israeli military, both of whom are included in this database: Michael Starr and Sam Starr. Michael told the Jewish Independent: “I grew up in a religious and Zionist household, and Israel was a large part of my cultural heritage […] My grandmother was born in Israel and my grandfather served in the Haganah and IDF.”
