NOAM ELITUV

Noam Elituv, 31-32, is a Canadian from Thornhill, Ont. He attended TanenbaumCHAT, a Jewish high school in North York, Ont., from 2007 to 2011, and served as the student body president, according to his LinkedIn.

Elituv joined the Israeli military’s Givati Brigade in 2012, eventually becoming a commanding officer with “extended combat experience,” according to his LinkedIn page. The brigade received international attention in 2022 after some of its soldiers were accused and later found guilty of spitting at the Armenian archbishop and other Christian pilgrims during a procession in Jerusalem.

Elituv served in the Israeli military until 2017. In 2018, he was the recipient of a scholarship from the HESEG Foundation, a charity started by Indigo founder Heather Reisman. Elituv went on to get an engineering degree from Tel Aviv University and work for the Israeli government as an electrical engineer. He also volunteers at Ach Gadol (Big Brother) for Lone Soldiers, where he provides soldiers with “guidance and support” throughout their military service.

Noam’s father, Nadav Elituv, is also a former Israeli soldier and is included in this database. He told The Canadian Jewish News that it was not easy for Noam to be alone while he was serving, and that he would visit him often.

This database was created by The Maple to document Canadians that have served in the Israeli military.
