Sam Starr is a Canadian who was a part of the Israeli military’s Golani Brigade as of February 2023, according to an interview with one of his brothers, Michael Starr.

Starr has two brothers that were or are in the Israeli military, both of whom are included in this database: Joseph Starr and Michael Starr. Michael told the Jewish Independent: “I grew up in a religious and Zionist household, and Israel was a large part of my cultural heritage […] My grandmother was born in Israel and my grandfather served in the Haganah and IDF.”

Starr’s parents, Steven Starr and Iris Green-Starr, are both doctors.
