Yona Lazar was previously in the Israeli military, according to her Facebook profile. She is also pictured in a January 2015 article from eJewish Philanthropy titled, “Far From Home and Far From Alone: New Lone Soldiers Join Tzofim Garin Tzabar Program.”
Her mother, Nola Lazar, has publicly written in multiple places that two of her children have served in the Israeli military. A 2021 bio for Nola in the Jewish National Fund of Canada’s magazine states that she “has served on the JNF Manitoba Saskatchewan board for the last 6 years. Taking on the role as president in 2019, Nola has been inspired to help improve the quality of life for Israel’s vulnerable communities on her many trips to Israel. Nola also serves as Vice President of Mercaz Canada and is on the board of the Canadian Zionist Federation.”
Yona’s LinkedIn profile states that she now works as a “customer engagement specialist” in Israel.
Yona’s sister, Galya Lazar, is also included in this database.
