Zack Weiss is a Canadian from Toronto. In an August 2023 interview, he said, “Before I started working in Israel, I actually decided to join the army. I was in the special forces for 3 years, and it was an incredible experience.” Weiss stated he “was the only non-Israeli in the unit that I was in” and that it was “intense, but always meaningful and important work.”

Speaking on the experience in retrospect, Weiss said, “Yeah, if you can imagine the most pressure, intense time of your life where you grew so much, and learned so much that you wouldn’t trade it for the world, but you also wouldn’t take any amount of money to go back and do it again. Some things you do once, and you don’t really miss it.”

Weiss’s LinkedIn profile states that he was in the Israeli military from January 2017 to December 2019, where he claims he, “Worked undercover in high intensity urban combat environments, trained in hand to hand combat, explosives, long-mid-short range weapons, chemical warfare, drones, underground warfare, sabotage, hostage rescue and parachuting.” He also claims that he, “Specialized in counter terrorism hit and run operations and afterwards worked for several foreign embassies.”

After finishing his service, Weiss went on to obtain a degree. As of July 2024, he was the global business development manager at Odeoo, an in-game advertising company based in Israel. His profile notes that he has been personally based in Toronto as of February 2023, however.
