NOAM ZELDIN

Noam Zeldin, 24-25, is a Canadian from Toronto who immigrated to Israel, and then joined its military in 2017. In 2019, Zeldin told the CBC: “I feel that I made the choice based on how I felt about the country and what the IDF stands for.”

The CBC reported, “Zeldin, who is serving on a mortar team, says it’s nerve-racking to have to be ready for combat at all times, even when he’s asleep or in the shower but that he feels he’s doing his part. ‘I knew Israel was a land worth protecting and a land I would want to protect.’” The article noted Zeldin was set to be released from service in 2020. The CBC lists Yonah Morrison, another individual included in this database, as one of Zeldin’s friends, and states that their terms of service overlapped.

This database was created by The Maple to document Canadians that have served in the Israeli military.
