SIGAL ALMOG

Sigal Almog, 59-60, was born in Israel and moved to Toronto in 2004.

In 2013, Sigal told The Canadian Jewish News (CJN), “I was in the army. I know about it. I had a brother killed in the army.” Sigal’s daughter, Shiri Almog, also served in the Israeli military and is included in this database. Speaking on her service, Sigal told the CJN, “My only concern is that she’s there and I’m here. If she needs anything, I can’t help her.” These comments were made at a Toronto support group meeting for parents with children in the Israeli military.

Almog has appeared in news coverage about Israeli immigrants in Canada that volunteer to staff an Israel-based, Hebrew-language suicide hotline. Sigal was also the founder and owner of Sigal Books, a Hebrew-language bookstore that was based out of Thornhill, Ont.

This database was created by The Maple to document Canadians that have served in the Israeli military.
