Sofia Gancman has been an assistant crown attorney at the Ontario Ministry of Attorney General since April 2022, following nine months of working in the office as an articling student and four months as a summer law student, according to her LinkedIn page.
Gancman came to Ontario from Israel, where she served in the Israeli military. Her LinkedIn profile states that she was an “Office Administrator” in the Israeli military from March to August 2011, and then a “Coordination and Liason Officer (Lieutenant)” for COGAT (Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories) in the “Judea and Samaria Area, Israel” referring to the West Bank, from August 2011 until November 2013.
Following this time in the Israeli military, Gancman went on to complete law school in Israel, which included a stint as a research assistant for the Israeli Ministry of Justice and an articling student for the Israel State Attorney Office. Gancman is a licensed lawyer in Ontario and Israel.
